CHALK PAINT OVER LEATHER???

Yes, believe it or not, chalk paint EeeeVEN sticks to LEATHER.
I recently purchased this neat old table at an auction, but didn't know how I'd paint it since the top surfaces were leather.  First I thought I'd tape it off and just paint the wooden areas, but I didn't like that look.  Sooooo, thought I'd just try painting it.

These are the AFTER pics.

WHITE CHALK PAINT

This is how she sat on the floor at the auction.  Too cute.  I saw her with white paint and a green glass knob.
Sooooo, I bid on and won the lil table on the left.  Nope, didn't get the other one.  When buying to RESALE, ya have to remember, ya gotta get it low, and someone else decided they wanted it more than I did.

Check out the next page for the quick and easy transformation.

TURQUOISE CHALK PAINT BEDSIDE TABLE

Remember this photo from my last post???

Here's the way this lil table looked BEFORE I painted it with a couple coats of my homemade chalk paint. That recipe is found HERE.

Then the entire piece is lightly sanded, but sanding more on the edges and any area that would normally get more wear.

Now, I brush on Minwax Special Walnut stain................and then wipe it off using a soft cloth, leaving more in the nooks and crannies to accentuate the detail.

Put the hardware back on........loved it just as it was.
And, that's it.  She's done.  I love this little table.

What cha think?

VINTAGE CHINA CABINET

It's difficult to get good pictures in my dark garage, but you can see the before below.  Annnnnd, if you'd like to see where I found this piece, take a peek HERE.

With the door off, shelves removed and the side panels popped out, I started painting with Walmart's Color Place 'white' paint.  I mixed it with Plaster of Paris and water.  Look here for directions.

I brushed on two or three coats, let dry, then sanded with my lil Mouse sander by Black and Decker.

Next, the interior and shelves get 2 to 3 coats of chalk paint made with an OOPS paint in the prettiest shade of aqua.  I love it.....can't imagine why someone DIDN'T want it.

The panels painted and popped back in, AND the shelves are back inside.  Check the next page for HER NEW LOOK.
