LOOK AT THE DETAIL!!! I knew it would turn out good.
I just wiped it clean, then painted the legs and skirt with one of my favorite paints....Behr, in ultra pure white (blurry pic, but you get the idea)
Then the top was painted black, using Glidden's black. Let dry, then sand edges to give it that perfect shabby look.
Then to bring out the detail, I'm gonna do a wash of black over the white areas. Using the same black that I painted the top with, place just a little on a Styrofoam plate, add enough water to make an ink-like consistency. Then using a small brush, brush this mixture over the legs and skirt.
Let it stand for just a few minutes.
Then with a soft cloth or paper towel, wipe back most of the black wash to show the detail......leaving the black wash in the creases and cracks.
TaaDaa!! Finished Product. What cha think? I thought it turned out great. You could put a couple coats of varnish or wax on the top, but I liked the flat look, so left it as it was.
Just a hint of the wood shows through.
And, this one sold about 15 minutes after I sat it out in the shop. YEAAA!!
Hope you enjoyed. I think I'll show you pics of the little green shelf that is in my header for my next BEFORE and AFTER.
