VINTAGE CHINA CABINET


It's difficult to get good pictures in my dark garage, but you can see the before below.  Annnnnd, if you'd like to see where I found this piece, take a peek HERE.


With the door off, shelves removed and the side panels popped out, I started painting with Walmart's Color Place 'white' paint.  I mixed it with Plaster of Paris and water.  Look here for directions.



I brushed on two or three coats, let dry, then sanded with my lil Mouse sander by Black and Decker.


Next, the interior and shelves get 2 to 3 coats of chalk paint made with an OOPS paint in the prettiest shade of aqua.  I love it.....can't imagine why someone DIDN'T want it.


The panels painted and popped back in, AND the shelves are back inside.  Check the next page for HER NEW LOOK.

After a little distressing using my Mouse sander, the door is reattached.


Annnnd, I called her FINISHED.
Then, I've filled her up with lots of pretty WHITE milk glass.  It shines against the aqua color.  The color is MORE aqua than it appears here.  






What cha think???  Makes me want a room filled with pretty white furniture.  Someday soon.

    o how loverly...and the milk glass yummy...the few pieces I had from my Mom and Dad,I gave to my Sis so she could have all of it...looks so good in her 100 year old Arts and Crafts Bungalow.It has a built in china cablinet with turquoise painted shelves....love what you do and spending a few minutes to check you out...
