THE OLE RED TRUCK

In my profile, I spoke of my Ole Red Truck.  Well, this is NOT it.  But, as I drove by this ole red truck recently, I just had to do a U-turn and get some pics .  I'm not sure if you can see her, but there's even a mannequin sittin at the wheel.  I'd love to air up that tire, have 'Pickin and Paintin' painted on the door and make her mine.  But, somehow I've gotta feeling that just airing up that tire wouldn't get me goin on down the road in this one.

Looks like that tall gal in the driver's seat had one goood day pickin.

I do love old vehicles too.  Are all of us junkers the same?  I love ANYTHING old.  For many of us, I think our love of old things has to do with the memories connected to whatever we're lovin' at the moment.  Like this truck.  She reminds me of one my Grandpa once had.  I can just see him driving up now, with his big farm hat on his head, smilin at me and wavin as he pulls up.  How ya doin, Missy?  He always called me Missy.  Sweet Memories.

I have a cross stitched piece hangin on my wall that says:

I love everything that's old,
Old manners,
Old books,
Old times
and Old friends.

See ya'll back here soon.

  1. I love old vehicles. I love the smell. I think it may be the small of burning oil but I still love it. I wished I would have kept my 1960 BelAire because now I could fit all my kids in it:)The best part is--they don't have computers so you can fix them yourself!

    1. So true, Sandy. I've had my PT Cruiser in the shop a couple times lately just because of those silly sensor lights coming on. And, it's usually something like the gas cap isn't tight enough.
      Thanks for stopping in!! 8-)

  4. Candy: I learned to drive in an old truck like that only it was dark green. We lived on my grandparent's ranch and the road was a one lane dirt, with trees on both sides, so to get back where I started from, I had to turn around. The ole truck had some pretty beat up bumpers before I was through, and you know how tough their bumpers were back then..Happy Thursday..Judy

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Robin. Don't you just love to go to the car shows. We happened upon a huge one recently in Tunica, and I enjoyed the car show as much as I did the casinos.
      Come back soon.
